Chelsfield first established its presence in New York in 1990 and in the following 13-year period successfully invested in value-add projects throughout Manhattan. In 2016, the New York office was re-established when it advised The Olayan Group on its acquisition of 550 Madison Avenue (the former Sony Building).
Today, the vertically integrated team is focused on a range of investment strategies seeking to generate core-plus, value-add and opportunistic returns across asset classes and the capital stack.
The team, with an average of 18 years of investment experience, has deep local expertise in New York across acquisitions, zoning and planning, construction and asset management, as well as a global strategic perspective on design, consumer trends and tenant relationships. The combination of a global presence and local expertise enables Chelsfield to deliver market-leading properties and attractive investor returns throughout global gateway cities.




Most recently, Chelsfield served as Co-Developer and Asset Manager for 550 Madison Avenue, a landmark 850,000 sq ft mixed-use prime Manhattan tower owned by The Olayan Group. Working with the award-winning architecture firm Snøhetta, the project delivers one of the most progressive visions for an office tower in New York City. The building concept set out in 2017 optimises and enhances its commercial and retail spaces, fosters the public realm and is centred on amenities, health and wellness, sustainability and high-quality air filtration. 550 Madison will be New York’s first LEED Platinum and WELL Gold building.
